About the event

About Kristin:

Kristin Link fell in love with field sketching while pursuing a graduate degree in Science Illustration and has been teaching workshops and courses about it since 2010. She keeps her own field journal to slow down, be present, practice curiosity, and get to know the natural world around her. Kristin has taught and shared her sketches with all ages across Alaska, from the Arctic to Metlakatla, and was featured in the New York Times Travel section. Her book, Discovering the Art of Field Sketching will be published by Timber Press in 2026. Kristin works as a freelance science illustrator for clients like the National Park Service, University of Alaska, Edible Alaska Magazine, and the Copper River Watershed Project.
